Continental super power seperated from all its threats by water. The United States of America is the heart of the capitalist and liberal democratic world. This starting position makes it the ideal position for becoming even more powerful industrialy as it is highly unlikley that Germany or Japan will ever reach it early on.
In 1936, the USA is the most powerful nation in the world easily a match for Germany and Japan who are its most common enemies but has to battle massive levels of neutrality that usually do not subside till 1941-42. The USA has more industry, effective leadership, energy, metal, rare materials, and crude oil than any other nation. The USA has an incredibly strong industry, especially if built up during pre-war years.
